My Revive Her Drive Review

Highly Recommended

The author has done a thorough research even about the obscure and minor details related to the subject area. And also facts weren’t just dumped, but presented in an interesting manner.

As a whole, this manual contains everything you need to know about this subject. I would recommend it as a guide for beginners as well as experts and everyone in between.

Ginseng and Copulatory Behavior Animal Studies

Panax ginseng and Panax quinquefolius have both been shown to enhance male copulatory behavior in laboratory studies (Table 4.1) 18-20 . Copulatory behavior can be examined in male rodents by placing them with sexually receptive female conspecifics and measuring the following parameters mount latency time from introduction of the female until the first mount with pelvic thrusting intromission latency time from introduction of the female until first mount with pelvic thrusting and vaginal penetration ejaculation latency time from the first intromission until ejaculation and postejaculatory interval or the refractory period time from ejaculation until next intromission. A reduced latency to mount the female would indicate increased male sexual arousal, whereas a decreased latency to intromit or ejaculate would be indicative of increased copulatory performance. In male mice whose normal copulatory behavior was compromised as a result of prolonged individual housing, the daily...

Orgasm

The moment of most intense pleasure in sexual intercourse I know this may be an intimate question, but can I ask you what you think when you have an orgasm How did we get here Through a moment, just like the one we are talking about here, I would guess. If your father, or his father, or his father before him, failed to have an orgasm, you and I would not be here. There is no chance you would exist as you are today, with your genetic code, without generations of men in your family having an orgasm before you Something so fast, so natural, that it has enabled generations of little you's and me's to exist. Think on this for a moment. I will limit the number of generations in this example as we would have to go back to the beginning of time, that is the significance of an orgasm 1. Your great, great, great grandfather has an orgasm which lasts approximately five to six seconds. Out of millions of sperm, one fertilizes an egg, and the process of life begins. 2. Your great, great...

Central Nervous System Actions of Ginseng

Ior 53, 54 , and treatment with dopaminergic drugs has long been shown to facilitate masculine sexual behavior 55, 56 . In the paraventricular nuclei (PVN) and medial preoptic area of the hypothalamus (MPOA), brain areas critical for male sexual behavior 57 , dopamine levels are increased before and during copulation 58, 59 . The microinjection of dopamine receptor antagonists directly into the MPOA decreases libido and impairs copulatory performance 60, 61 . NO may be an important mediator of hypothalamic dopamine release 62 . Treatment with NOS inhibitors decreased hypothalamic dopamine levels 63 and reduced male mounting activity 64, 65 , libido 64 , and penile erection 66, 67 . Although there is no direct evidence to show that ginseng ginsenosides modulate hypothalamic NO levels, the injection of ginsenoside Rc or Rg3 into the cerebral ventricles inhibits stress-induced hypothalamic activation in mice through a NO-mediated pathway 68 , suggesting that ginsenosides directly induce...

Gamma Butyrolactone GBL

GBL is also known by the chemical names 2,(3H)-furanone di-hydro, butyrolac-tone, 4-butyrolactone, dihydro-2(3H)-furanone, 4-butanolide, 2(3H)-furanone, di-hydro, tetrahydro-2-furanone, and butyrolactone y 15 . GBL is widely available on the Internet as Verve or Jolt. These are marketed as products that enhance sexual performance. Other GBL product names include Longevity, Revivarant, G.H. Some undesired effects are similar to those of amphetamine abuse peevishness, nervousness, combativeness, paranoia, insomnia, and (after a dose wears off) depression. Typical afflictions include repetitions in movement or speech. Males may engage in sexual intercourse far longer than usual. Abusers may cut themselves off from other persons and become suspicious of them. Assorted hallucinations may occur, the classic one being coke bugs crawling under the skin. Psychological problems produced by unwise use of cocaine are so similar to those from other stimulants that some scientists believe similar mechanisms must cause the problems. Psychosis can be induced by cocaine but, as with other stimulants, generally does not continue after the drug use stops. Smoking cocaine can produce respiratory difficulties reminiscent of tobacco smoking difficulties that develop faster than with tobacco because lungs must deal not only with the air pollution but with powerful drug effects as well....

Its getting harder every day

Birth control pills are a different story. It is far more simple and has everything to do with biology. Since women ovulate once a month and the hormones that regulate ovulation are well known, it was relatively easy to control it simply sustain the hormone that prevents ovulation. The ultimate problem with regulating sperm production, on the other hand, is that men make sperm pretty much all the time. Worse, the key driving hormone is testosterone, which, not coincidentally, is also responsible for sex drive. So, if you stop testosterone, you stop the desire to have sex. Granted, this would be a really effective form of birth control, but it misses the point of contraception development though. Comparing stopping ovulation to stopping sperm production is like comparing shutting the windows when it is raining outside to actually stopping it from raining outside. For most men sexual dysfunction in the form of erectile dysfunction comes without an effect on the desire to have sex....

The drug can worsen verbal communication, causing voices to become indistinct and grammar to become garbled. Studies measuring sleep-time breathing find that the drug can exacerbate respiration problems in some experiments researchers concluded that the change has no practical effect on health, but medical literature notes an instance in which the drug's influence on breathing did cause trouble for a sleeping person. In a mice experiment flurazepam lowered body temperature. In humans long-term use of the drug is suspected of causing hallucinations and confusion, and a case report exists of a single dose creating those symptoms along with euphoria. Investigators in the 1970s found mild euphoria to be a routine effect of flurazepam. Headache, low blood pressure, eyesight trouble, nausea, vomiting, and constipation can occur. A case report relates that a woman's interest in sexual activity increased when she stopped taking flurazepam and diazepam. Flurazepam is believed to interfere with...

Why The Route Of Administration Matters

One major reason heroin addicts shoot up intravenously is to obtain a rush, an orgasm-like feeling that seems to emanate from the pit of the stomach. Taking the same dose by mouth or through the skin or nose just won't do it. The presence of a rush after intravenous administration not by other routes shows how important the rate at which a drug gets to the brain can be in producing certain effects.

How to Increase Creatinine Levels

Eating foods rich in protein like red meat will slightly increase creatinine levels. There is no significant variation between vegatarians and armavors, so the effect protein has is little. Sexual activity also raises creatinine levels. I doubt sexual activity influences creatinine level with much significance. However, a vegetarian that does not have much sex should be concerned.

Recreational users take GHB for euphoria and hallucinations, to increase sociability, to promote interest in sexual activity, and to lower inhibitions. One drug misuser who used GBL likened its effects to alcohol. GBL is also marketed as a mood elevator, a quality that some GHB users ascribe to that substance as well. Researchers using various scientific measurements have confirmed that GHB promotes mental calmness but may simultaneously make a person feel discontented.

AIDS is through injection drug use

The Facts Fifty percent of all HIV AIDS diagnoses in teenagers are acquired through sexual transmission, making unprotected sexual behavior the greatest HIV AIDS risk for teens. Many teens report using alcohol or drugs when they have sex, which can negatively impact the use of protection. Data from the CDC suggests that drug injection led to at least six percent of HIV diagnoses reported among those between the ages of 13 and 24 in 2000. Although injection drug use among teens is low, other drug and alcohol use can diminish sexual inhibitions and cloud one's judgment thus creating the potential for unprotected intercourse. Unprotected sexual intercourse provides the greatest risk of HIV infection for teens, to say nothing of the increased risk of sexually transmitted viruses. Drug use can be particularly dangerous for sexually active youth because it can diminish sexual inhibitions and cloud one's judgment. These conditions create the potential for unprotected sexual intercourse,...

History And Legal Status

By the mid-to-late 1990s GHB had made its way into the club, dance, and rave scene. Many adolescents found that GHB gave them a pleasurable high and enhanced sexual experiences. However, reports of GHB overdoses and use as a date rape drug, particularly when used in combination with alcohol, prompted the FDA in 1997 to reissue a warning against GHB use. Recipes and kits for making the drug began to appear on the Internet around this time.

Joyous Song of Being

Reports about the modification of sexual experience under the influence of LSD are also contradictory. Since stimulation of all sensory perception is an essential feature of LSD effects, the sensual orgy of sexual intercourse can undergo unimaginable enhancements. Cases have also been described, however, in which LSD led not to the anticipated erotic paradise, but rather to a purgatory or even to the hell of frightful extinction of every perception and to a lifeless vacuum.

She goes out, still staring at her thumb, to search tor tobacco and or cannabis. Although these kids are far out on a technopagan limb, their familial interactions look as traditionally patriarchal as the Bunkers. In one sense they seem to have taken cyber paganism the farthest. Their model of the human being is really that of the computer with will. But in another way, they appear to have adopted a more sexist and radically traditional value system than their parents could have had. The Coyotes have all become pack animals, roaming the streets for adventure, while the Kalis stay at home, shop for clothes, or mix potions. The highest level of protocol between two users is, of course, sexual intercourse, an act of creativity that TOPY members are trying to demystify. Since they see sex as the connective energy in all interactions, the word 'of', has 'been replaced in TOPY-spell by the word ov, representative of ovum, the sexual energy, which needs to be liberated from society's...

The Evolution of a Cyborg

The bare-bones quality of his music was thought to go right past the analytic mind, de-composing the listener's expectations about music. Making use of Muzak's painstaking research into the effects of various frequencies and pulses on the physiology and psychology of listeners, Orridge picked his sounds on the basis of their ability to decondition social restraints on thought and the body. Orridge claims certain passages of his songs can even induce orgasms. In industrial music, it was not important that listeners understood what was happening to them any more than it was in Muzak technology. The music needed only to deprogram the audience in any way available. Artist as art object goes way back, but not artist as cyborg or information loop time traveler. The other particular advantage of becoming a cyborg is, of course, that it enables the artist to interact fully with her computer and other high-tech recording equipment. Sarah's current house project is an adaptation of the Bacchae,...

Organs and Systems Urinary tract

Urinary tract infections are quite common, although not very serious adverse effects of spermicides. For several years, the rate of urinary tract infections in young, sexually active women caused by the use of spermicides has been uncertain and has not been thoroughly evaluated. Since this phenomenon was observed, special surveys have been carried out and several have confirmed a higher risk of urinary tract infection among women who use a diaphragm with spermicides, compared with sexually active women who use other types of contraception (6). Finally, women who use spermicides are at higher risk of urinary tract infection than women who use other methods of contraception. Users of diaphragms and other barrier methods (including spermicide-coated male condoms) in conjunction with spermicides have increased degrees of introital and periurethral colonization with coliform organisms and Staphylococcus sapro-phyticus, leading to urinary tract infection (7). In a large case control study...

THE SEX LIFE OF PLANTS By Alec Bristow Holt, Rinehart & Winston 228 pages 10 The beauty and fragrance of flowers are byproducts of a complicated sex life. Wind-pollinated species, with no need to dress up for insect visitors, are generally drab. Dazzling blossoms are for bugs, with shallow, wide-petaled plants adapted to primitive species, and deeper flowers with frillier petals luring more sophisticated insects.

Cardiovascular Effects

Whether or not these recognized cardiovascular effects are sufficient to actually trigger myocardial infarction is still debated, although there is ample evidence for concern. The acute onset of coronary syndromes is thought to result from the disruption of vulnerable plaque. Vulnerable plaques are not necessarily the largest plaques (i.e., they do not cause clinically significant obstruction of large epicardial arteries) but, rather, are comprised of thin-capped, lipid-rich lesions that may be located in second-order vessels. Triggers, whether intense athletic activity, marijuana smoking, or even intense sexual activity, result in homodynamic forces that can disrupt the thin fibrous cap, probably because changes in arterial pressure disrupt the underlying vulnerable plaque (19). The authors of the study concluded that smoking marijuana was a rare trigger of acute myocardial infarction. A number of other triggers for myocardial infarction have been identified (21,22). These include...

Sexual Behavior And Drug Abuse

Intimate contact with another person including but not limited to sexual intercourse. The use of drugs and alcohol affects sexual behavior, because drugs reduce inhibitions and cloud judgment, making teens more vulnerable to faulty decision making. In its 2007 Youth Risk Behavior Surveillance System (YRBSS), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reported that approximately 35 percent of U.S. teens are sexually active and roughly 7 percent had sex before the age of 13. About 22.5 percent of sexually active teens have used drugs and or alcohol while engaging in sexual intercourse. Not only do alcohol and drugs cloud the decision about whether to engage in sex, but they also may affect the decision to use protection. The CDC YRBSS points out that only 61.5 percent of those teens who recently engaged in sexual intercourse reported using a condom, which means that nearly one-half of all teens are at risk of sexually transmitted diseases (STDs).

Sexual and reproductive function

Ironically, some of the drugs that increase a teen's risk of engaging in sexual activity can also impair his or her sexual and reproductive functioning. A large number of studies have shown a link between alcohol use and sexual dysfunction. According to Medications That May Contribute to Sexual Disorders, a 1997 article in the Journal of Family Practice, chronic alcohol abuse can suppress normal hormonal functions such as sexual arousal. It can also reduce the size of the testes. The 2003 Health Professionals Follow-up Study reported that impotence was more common among men who drank alcohol. Drugs other than alcohol can also have a negative effect on sexual function. The 1997 article reported that cocaine use may hinder the ability to attain an erection or achieve orgasm. Like cocaine, chronic use of amphetamines also affects orgasm and erection. Barbiturates can impact sexual function as well by reducing desire and making it difficult to achieve erection or orgasm. A 1996 article,...

Zarkov makes practical use out of the sublime DMT state to redesign the personality he uses in real life. He enjoys his DMT experience, then downloads it in order to devise new business strategies or even new sexual techniques - but he does not take any of it too seriously. Zarkov remains convinced that our reality is not making a wholesale leap out of history. His views sharply contrast those of his good friend Terence McKenna.

Place outside of Europe, it remains the main illicit manufacturing region. Customs interceptions in 2007 were most commonly reported in the Netherlands (88 cases) and Belgium (22 cases).27 Increased European seizures in 2007 are likely related to increases in MDMA availability as seen in forensic profiling. Large numbers of tablets containing very high levels of MDMA were also reported. Following temporary shortages of MDMA after the dismantling of one of the largest MDMA laboratories ever discovered in the Netherlands in 2005,28 markets appeared to rebound by 2007, with MDMA content of 'ecstasy' tablets returning to previous, or higher, levels. Additionally, there were reports of high content (100-125 mg) MDMA mixed with alcohol called Original 69 and Dance Love Sex appearing on the market.29

However, as noted above the development of hormonal therapy was gathering pace in the United States by the 1940s. In 1945 the American magazine Business Week proclaimed 'Of all the sex hormones, testosterone is said to have the greatest market potential' (cited in Hoberman 2005 3). Also in that year, Paul de Kruif published the influential book, The Male Hormone, which outlined a highly positive appraisal of the drug's potential. He argued that it could enhance the sex drive of men and women, and that the established medical societies such as the AMA were not taking it seriously because of its connections with sexual activity. Despite this, doctors were recommending hormones for a range of ailments, notably those related to the ageing process. De Kruif used it himself, claiming that it extended his sense of vitality and manhood even though he was in his mid fifties.

Problems In The Evaluation Of Clinical Results

Sexual experiences and behavior can be deeply influenced by the LSD pro-cess. The intensity, depth and completeness of the sexual orgasm and the ease with which it occurs seems to be closely related to the process of letting go of psycho-1 logical defenses. Many problems in this area can be traced back to unconscious confusion between the pattern of genital orgasm and that of the total physical release that characterizes the orgasm of birth. As LSD subjects learn to let go in the death-rebirth process, their orgasmic ability increases considerably this improvement of sexual experiences can be observed in both males and females. In those individuals who did not have any major psychopathological symptoms prior to the LSD session, the same effect can usually be observed after one or several high-dose psychedelic experiences. Sexual neuroses, such as frigidity, vaginal spasms (vaginism), genital pain during intercourse, impotence and premature ejaculation frequently respond well to LSD...

The film also stars Casey Niccoli as his wife. It all begins while Perry is recording at a studio. Casey calls him to let him know that she has bought him a gift. Unfortunately, before he gets home, she shoots up with it and dies of a drug overdose. He arrives home and has a flashback that shows how they got to this point, thanks in-part to an unethical physician. The story then continues to jump from present to past as Perry awaits the arrival of the paramedics. At one point he has sex with her corpse while reflecting on their attempts to kick the drugs. He then remembers their voodoo wedding in Mexico. When the ambulance finally arrives, the paramedics are greeted by a very strange sight that causes them to call the cops...

Changes in optical perception are usually described as typical manifestations of the LSD state and are thus serious candidates for being pharmacological invariants. Although reports of various abnormal visual phenomena occurred frequently in my records, I have observed a number of high-dose sessions where there were no alterations in optical perception. Some of these LSD reactions where visual changes were absent had the form of intense sexual experiences others were characterized by massive somatization with feelings of general malaise and physical illness, or experiences of excruciating pain in various parts of the body. Special examples of sessions without optical perceptual changes were observed in advanced stages of psycholvtic treatment and in some psychedelic sessions. They involved either a brutal and primitive experiential complex described by various subjects as reliving of their own birth, or transcendental experiences of cosmic unity and the Supracosmic Void which had the...

Contraception misconception

The other argument against allowing emergency contraception to be sold over the counter is that it will encourage risky sexual behavior. However, there is no evidence to indicate that. What is really the issue here is the lack of availability of regular contraceptives and a failure to teach young adults about the benefits of their use. Condoms in particular are the best protection against pregnancy and contracting a sexually transmitted disease if you are having sex. I can't believe I have to point out that not having sex is an effective means of not getting pregnant, but that is where our debate has turned. It's like saying that you won't get fat, if you decide not to eat. Used properly, condoms are 98-100 effective in preventing pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. That is the key used properly. A lot of the data Those who preach abstinence have a good point. Adverse Events From Cannabis Administration

Some investigators may accept a woman's self-report of reproductive status (e.g., hysterectomy, tubal ligation), abstinence from sexual activity, or use of contraception. However, it is prudent to confirm reproductive status with medical records and to have women with reproductive potential undergo pregnancy testing prior to study participation. Periodic pregnancy testing may be needed if the study extends over a period of time.

The Brain Reward System

A key to understanding how drugs work lies in a group of interconnected brain parts, which reward you when you do the things you need to do to survive. This brain circuit produces reward by making you feel pleasure when you do these things. You eat and drink so that you can survive. Eating and drinking make you feel good. You have sex so that your species can survive. Sex, too, makes you feel good. The feelings of pleasure that result when you accomplish survival-oriented tasks are caused by the release of specific neurochemicals within this circuit, called the brain reward system. Your brain uses these feelings to teach you to repeat these behaviors. Assuming other factors don't intervene, this primitive, yet ingenious, form of learning helps to ensure that both you and the human race actually do survive.

Once the preliminaries are over and the kissing and hugging starts, the trip drugs really start doing their job. Many individuals born after World War II consider the most moving moments of their lives to be the ecstatic highs of making love on good LSD. People have described (he physical and mental intensity of the experience as terms of lovers melting into each other, glowing with radiant auras, coming in colors (a la Roiling Stones), fucking for centuries and complete ego transcendence. In testimony to acid as a love drug, Baba Ram Dass (Richard Alpert) said in Playboy in 1970 Before taking LSD, I never stayed in a state of sexual ecstasy for hours on end, but I have done this under LSD. It heightens all of your senses and it means that you're living the sexual experience totally. Each caress or kiss is timeless. In some instances the clue seemed to be physical resemblance of the nurse to a relevant figure in the subject's past in others, similarity of behavior patterns, habits, or approach to the subject. Sometimes the patients' reactions could be explained by the fact that they put the nurse into an interpersonal category toward which they had either a particularly good or a conflict-laden attitude, for example, a possible sexual partner, dangerous seductress, erotic rival, competitor, maternal woman, understanding person, domineering type, authority figure, or personified superego.

Exciting the libido. 2. Any drug that arouses the sexual instinct. Aphrodisiacs are agents reputed to stimulate or excite sexual desire. Throughout the ages many foods have been considered sexual stimulants. Similar claims have been made for alcohol, amfetamines, cocaine, LSD, marijuana, morphine, opium, and mescaline. These substances break down inhibitions, the cause of much sexual malfunctioning but if taken in large enough quantities, they diminish rather than enhance sexual capacity. Cantharides (Spanish fly) and yohimbine are also considered aphrodisiacs. The former, by irritating the genitourinary tract and concomitantly dilating the associated blood vessels, does produce a certain stimulation of the genitals, and yo-himbine stimulates the spine nerve centers that control erection. dilate blood vessels, is reputed to intensify orgasmic pleasure again, valid data for aphrodisiac effects are not available. Emotional And Psychosomatic Changes In The Postsession Intervals

Richard was a twenty-six-year-old student who had suffered for more than four years from severe unrelenting depression, and had made six serious suicidal attempts, one of them with rat poison. In addition, he had frequent attacks of free-floating anxiety, excruciating headaches, agonizing cardiac pains and palpitations, and severe insomnia. Richard himself related most of these emotional problems to disturbances in his sexual life. Although he had many friendly relationships with women, he was not able to approach them sexually and had never had sexual intercourse with a female. He tried to reduce his sexual tension by occasional masturbation however, this resulted in self-hatred and tormenting guilt feelings. At irregular intervals, he got involved in homosexual activities, always in the role of the passive partner. Although he could reach momentary satisfaction in these situations, the feelings of guilt associated with them reached seJf-destructive proportions. In the state of...

Profane Illuminations

I first tried mushrooms at Wesleyan University, a private college in Connecticut. An unhappy nineteen-year-old, I kept tying myself into deeper psychological and intellectual knots. I was taking a seminar on the work of Jacques Lacan, who turned Freud's ideas into seductive gibberish. Our teacher was a chic presence, a twenty-eight-year-old Scottish woman who wore antique gowns and resembled Bette Davis, chain-smoked during class, and drank herself to death a few years later. Lacan wrote about lost objects of desire that could never be recaptured and the crisis of the real. He described how the sexual act never took place. His contorted concepts seemed painfully persuasive to me at the time.

Most Parents Dont Know If Their Teen Is Depressed

Obesidad Sobrepeso Quotes

Joseph Glenmullen, author of Prozac Backlash, has another view on antidepressant use for teenagers. He tells the story of a depressed high school student who he counseled and hesitantly prescribed antidepressants to. Her depression appeared to get better, although she still complained of anxiety and family stress. After about a year or so, the girl began to voice concern over her lack of interest in boys. All her other friends, she noted, were completely crazy about boys, talking about them incessantly, and getting excited about sex. The girl was completely unaware that the SSRI she was taking often decreases sexual desire and responsiveness. After Glenmullen told her of this side effect, he suggested she taper off her antidepressant use. After a few months, the girl was gratified to discover her increasing awareness of boys and feelings of desire.

Perinatal Experiences

Individual perinatal matrices also have fixed associations with activities in the Freudian erotogenic zones and with specific categories of psychiatric disorders. All these complex interrelations are shown in the synoptic paradigm on pages 75-78. They provide clues to the understanding of many otherwise puzzling aspects of LSD experiences, and also have far-reaching implications for psychiatric theory. This paradigm demonstrates, among other things, the close parallels between the stages of biological delivery and the pattern of sexual orgasm. The similarity between these two biological patterns is a fact of fundamental theoretical importance. It makes it possible to shift the etiological emphasis in the psychogenesis of emotional disorders from sexual dynamics to perinatal matrices, without denying or negating the significance and validity of the basic Freudian principles for understanding the psychodynamic phenomena and their mutual interrelations.

Physiology of an Erection

Impotence, or erectile dysfunction, can be defined as the persistent inability to develop and or maintain an erection adequate for sexual intercourse. Vascular diseases, including atherosclerosis, hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol, can cause restricted blood flow to the penis and may account for approximately 70 of physically related causes of erectile dysfunction 11 . The arterial blood supply to the penis is mainly provided by the internal pudendal artery, which branches into several smaller arteries that contribute to vascularization of the erectile tissues. The erectile tissue of the human penis consists of two dorsal corpora cavernosa and a ventral corpus spongiosum. Reduced sympathetic input combined with stimulation

Cannabis Forgetting and the Botany of Desire

So we're going to talk a little bit about sex in your garden, and drugs, and rock and roll. I want to start by briefly explaining what I mean by the botany of desire, about my approach to plants and their relationship to people, and then get on to marijuana. Those who have the book, Botany of Desire, will recognize some of what I'm saying, at least at the start. But I then want to go a little bit deeper into what we've learned and what we're learning about cannabis and the cannab-inoid network and memory since the book has come out. We're learning things actually almost every day about this very exciting area of brain science. But fitting

A critique of antidoping

Even the anti-doping expert Max Novich (1964) recognised that the addictive effects of amphetamines for athletes had been exaggerated. And at the BASM conference on steroids in 1975, A. H. Payne told the audience that 'it is common knowledge that the dire warnings of the health hazards have been overrated. I know of one athlete who has been on steroids almost non-stop for nine years and he is a fit healthy bull, who enjoys his sex life. There are side effects, but these appear to be only minor' (1975 87). But the argument of athlete choice was given short shrift it was simply assumed that elite competitors could not be trusted to manage the risk appropriately. Even minor doses were made illegal and the all-encompassing legal framework set in motion.

The Consequences Of Adolescent Cannabis

There is also evidence that socially deviant young people who have a predilection to use a variety of drugs including alcohol, cannabis, cocaine and heroin are selectively recruited to cannabis use (Fergusson & Horwood, 2000). The sequence of drug involvement, on this hypothesis, reflects the differing availability and societal disapproval of cannabis and other illicit drug use (Donovan & Jessor, 1983). The selective recruitment hypothesis is supported by correlations between dropping out of high school, early premarital sexual experience, delinquency, and early alcohol- and

Memory Studies with Adrenoceptor Agonists and Antagonists in Chicks

Hiv Subtypes Window Periods

We have systematically investigated the roles of adrenoceptors in the action of noradrena-line in a one trial learning task (discriminated avoidance learning) in the young chick, where the chick discriminates between red and blue beads. The chick at one to two days of age has a number of distinct advantages over rodents in the study of memory, including limited development of the blood brain barrier, the ability to learn about coloured beads in one short trial without any prior knowledge of colored beads. When chicks are readily available from nearby poultry farms (as male rejects from an egg laying strain), they are inexpensive, available in sufficient numbers for large experiments from the same hatch and available soon after sex determination. As they are precocial, they can be used for experiments on the day of arrival and do not need to be housed for more than one day. Birds have a visual system with similar capabilities to humans and are active during the day unlike rodents. The...

Yaje and the Mythic Origins of Society

As described by Reichel-Dolmatoff (1972 97-102), the yaje-drinking ceremony commences in the communal house after nightfall with ritualized dialogues that recount the Creation Myth and the genealogies of the exogamous phratries, the origins of humanity, of yaje, and of the social order being commemorated with song and dance to the accompaniment of instrumental sounds a phallic rattle staff that symbolizes the primordial fertilizing ray of the Sun, the rhythmic pounding of wooden tubes, and the rubbing of a turtle shell with wax to imitate the croaking of a frog. Each distribution of yaje is formally introduced by the blowing of a decorated clay trumpet. The yaje is distributed at prescribed intervals and with ritual gestures and speech-making by the headman, who fills the cups from the sacred maternal yaje vessel, while the men sit or continue their dancing. As the yaje effects increase so does the precision with which the dancers coordinate their movements, until at last they seem to...

Statistics And Patterns Of Ghb Use And Abuse

GHB is currently extremely popular in the dance club and rave scene. It is also popular among the gay community as well as with exotic dancers and strippers. It is primarily used for its ability to produce euphoria, intoxication, and enhanced sexual feelings. Others use it as a sleep aid or to enhance bodybuilding. Still others use it intentionally as a date rape drug. Abusers of other drugs, such as cocaine or methamphetamine, often take GHB to reduce the withdrawal

Desogestrel Cerazette

- In a woman misses a tablet, she should take it as soon as possible and continue treatment as normal. If she misses by over 12 hours, contraceptive protection will be lessened, it is therefore recommended to use an additional contraceptive method condoms for 7 days and, if she has had sexual intercourse within 5 days before forgetting the tablet, emergency contraception.

Physiology of Ejaculation

Ejaculation is the emission of semen to the exterior, resulting from the contraction of muscles surrounding the male internal urogenital ducts (Medline's definition). It is closely connected to the male orgasm. Sexual behaviour has components of rewarding behaviour, and ejaculation appears to be the most reinforcing component. Little is known about the neurochemical basis of this rewarding experience. Some relations to opioids and their receptors have been shown (Coolen et al. 2004). The second phase is considered to be a spinal cord reflex. The spinal ejaculation centre, which is located in the lumbar part of the spinal cord, is the commander of the peripheral organs involved in ejaculation and probably also integrates the sexual inputs during sexual activity. During this process, smooth muscle of the bladder neck contract in order to inhibit seminal reflux into the bladder, and the bulbospongio-sus and ischiocavernosus muscles display the rhythmic contractions. The origin of the...

The Effects Of Lsd On Animals

LSD has been reputed to have aphrodisiac effects in man (Leary, 1966), but one investigator reported that sexual activity in rats was depressed by LSD (Gillette, 1960). On the other hand, Bignami (1966), working in Frank Beach's laboratory, reported that LSD, as well as a variety of other stimulants, increases the sexual activity of rats.

Gewurzkalmus Calamus GF 21 Alphaprodine

Some individuals are synthesizing GHB in home laboratories. Ingredients in GHB, gamma-butyrolactone (GBL) and 1,4-butanediol, can also be converted by the body into GHB. These ingredients are found in a number of dietary supplements available in health food stores and gymnasiums to induce sleep, build muscles, and enhance sexual performance.

Male Sexual Health

Male sexual health was defined by the 1994 International Conference on Population and Development in Cairo and the 1995 Fourth World Conference on Women held in Beijing. The conferences expanded the right to family planning to include the right to better sexual and reproductive health. On the basis of the World Health Organization's definition of health, the Cairo Programme defines reproductive health as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity, in all matters relating to the reproductive system and to its functions and processes. Reproductive health therefore implies that people are able to have a satisfying and safe sex life and that they have the capability to reproduce and the freedom to decide if, when and how often to do so. Implicit in this last condition are the right of men and women to be informed and to have access to safe, effective, affordable and acceptable methods of family planning of their choice, as...

Dopamine

Although dopamine is important in a wide variety of functions including sleep, mood, attention, and learning, it is central to the experience of pleasure. The brain releases dopamine in response to pleasurable experiences such as eating or sexual activity. A variety of popular drugs, including alcohol, marijuana, and opiates, work by stimulating neurons to release large amounts of dopamine. The brain registers this flood of dopamine as an extremely pleasant experience and records memories of the rewarding effects produced by the drug.

And Drugs

As an important sexual side effect, and thus are also used in the treatment of premature ejaculation, are considered also with only one sentence The SSRIs, as a group, have a high risk of nausea and vomiting, headache, and sexual dysfunction, including inhibited ejaculation in men and impaired orgasm in women. The chapter Contraceptives contains only 15 lines on the topic Contraception, male . In the index, the entry sexual function is associated with the sub-entries p-adrenoreceptor blockers, amylnitrite, androgens, antidepressants, antipsychotics, clonidine, cocaine, ethanol, gua-nandrel, PDE 5-inhibitors, phenoxylamin, phentolamin, prostaglandin, yohimbine . The entry impotence is associated with the sub-entries p-adrenoreceptor blockers, alprostadil, ethanol, phentoalmin, PDE 5-inhibitors, prolactin, 5-a-reduc-tase inhibitors, thiazide, yohimbine . The entries sperm or spermatogenesis are not included.

Ecstasy

Ecstasy works by affecting nerve cells in the brain that use the chemical serotonin to communicate with other nerve cells. Long-term use can disrupt the serotonin system, which plays an important role in regulating mood, aggression, sexual activity, sleep, and sensitivity to pain. Research in animals indicates that ecstasy may actually kill

Pregnancy Category D

Clonazepam is not recommended for persons suffering from narrow-angle glaucoma. The compound may worsen respiratory disease. The substance increases saliva production. It often makes people tired, interferes with muscular coordination, and can impede decision making such effects hinder ability to operate dangerous machinery. Dozens of less common adverse effects are described, ranging from skin rash to painful gums. One case report concludes that clonazepam may promote porphyria, a body chemistry disorder that can make a person violent and supersensitive to light, but such a result is virtually unheard of. A review of medical records of men being treated for posttraumatic stress disorder suggested that the drug may commonly inhibit sexual performance in such a population. Some persons suffer from a disquieting affliction called apnea in which they temporarily stop breathing case reports say clonazepam can cause apnea attacks. An experiment noted a rebound effect when people...

LArginine

Five patients (17 ) reported a significant improvement in their sexual performance as measured by a validated questionnaire after the L-arginine phase, compared to 6 patients (20 ) who reported a benefit after the placebo period. There was no statistically significant difference between improvements with L-arginine compared to placebo (56 vs. 43 ). They concluded that L-arginine at 3 x 500 mg per day dose was no better for ED than placebo 35 . At the end of the first month with L-arginine alone, a statistically non-significant number of 2 patients (5 ) experienced a normal erection. At the end of the second month of receiving a combination of L-arginine and Pycnogenol, the number of men with restored sexual ability increased to 80 . After the 3-month trial period, 92.5 of the men experienced a normal erection. These men also experienced a decrease in time for an erection to develop after stimulation and an extended duration of erection. The authors concluded that oral administration...

Tongkat Ali

Tongkat ali (Eurycoma longifolia) is a tree found in Malaysia, Thailand and Indonesia. The root of this tree is reported to enhance male sexual performance as well as having medicinal properties for use in the treatment of dysentery, fever and other ailments. Another study evaluated the effect of tongkat ali in sexually sluggish old male rats, 24-month-old rats and retired breeders 51 . The rats received 200, 400, or 800 mg kg of various fractions of E. longifolia Jack, twice daily, for 10 d. The control rats received 3 ml kg of normal saline. Ang et al. monitored the effect of treatment by the act of yawning and stretching. This is because yawning, either alone or associated with stretching, is considered an ancestral vestige surviving throughout evolution that promotes sexual arousal. They showed that 800 mg kg of E. longifo-lia Jack increased yawning by 50 and stretching by 16.7 in sexually sluggish old male rats, by 676 to 719 and 31to 336 , respectively, in sexually active male...

A hard study

Scientists have been interested in the biological and social underpinnings of all of these topics for as long as there have been scientists. What is interesting is that controversy always stirs, no matter what they are studying. Today we have genetic, biochemical, neurobiological, endocrinology, psychological, epidemiological and social scientists that all approach different aspects of sex in unique ways. What they give us is a broad picture of biology that often runs counter to widely held beliefs about sex. This is where we will focus. 'Is the love of man and woman merely an animal function Are spiritual ideals of mating, of fidelity and chastity no more than irrational and sentimental nonsense Have our conventions and moralities - and what we've always held to be simple decency - been outmoded by findings of modern science ' These are all common questions that society wrestles with routinely. But you would probably be surprised to learn that they are quoted from a Reader's Digest...

Sexual Dysfunction

Reduction, skipping of a dose of an SSRI with a short half-life (e.g., sertraline), or changing to an antidepressant of a different class. Anorgasmia may be treated by the addition of yohimbine or amantadine or by the use of bethanechol or cyproheptadine one to two hours before sexual activity. Decreased libido may be treated by the addition of the antidepressant bupropion in general, this agent has the best profile with respect to sexual dysfunction. Trazodone has been associated with priapism in rare cases this must be treated urgently to avoid long-term impairment.

The Case of Dr Leary

The LSD trip-LSD as a ticket to an adventurous journey into new worlds of mental and physical experience-became the latest exciting fashion among academic youth, spreading rapidly from Harvard to other universities. Leary's doctrine-that LSD not only served to find the divine and to discover the self, but indeed was the most potent aphrodisiac yet discovered-surely contributed quite decisively to the rapid propagation of LSD consumption among the younger generation. Later, in an interview with the monthly magazine Playboy, Leary said that the intensification of sexual experience and the potentiation of sexual ecstasy by LSD was one of the chief reasons for the LSD boom.

Carvedilol

Sexual function In a comparison of carvedilol with valsartan in 160 patients with hypertension (mean age 46 years) each treatment was continued for 16 weeks, with crossover after 4 weeks of placebo (2C). Blood pressure was significantly lowered by both drugs (48 normalization with valsartan and 45 with carvedilol). In the first month of treatment, sexual activity (assessed as the number of episodes of sexual intercourse per month) fell with both treatments compared with baseline, although the change was statistically significant only with carvedilol. After the first month of treatment, sexual activity further worsened with carvedilol, but it improved or recovered fully with valsartan. The results were confirmed by the crossover. This confirms that beta-blockers can cause chronic worsening of sexual function.

Addicted to love

Before we get all mushy let's get gross. Animal models have shown that genital manipulation (How'd ya like to have that job ) results in the release of oxytocin or vasopressin in the brain, followed by a dopamine spike. In humans, sexual activity increases dopamine levels in select areas of the brain. It is thought that this concert of brain activity causes an unconscious learning mechanism where a mate's scent is associated with pleasure. As encounters persist over time, that bond is strengthened. Addiction works in much the same way. Drug use is associated with the extreme pleasure of rapid dopamine release. So, in a sense, one can think of the development of a monogamous relationship as an addiction to the cues that one uses to identify one's mate. This is of course not completely proven, but it's a very likely explanation of why we feel pain when we are separated from our voles is conserved in humans. There is some correlative evidence though, and it is worth considering. Oxytocin...

Get Virtual with

In the next room, Bryan has set up his VR gear. Tim is escorted past a long line of people patiently waiting for their first exposure to cyberspace, and he's fitted into the gear. Next to him and the computer stands a giant video projection of the image Tim is seeing through his goggles. I can't tell if he's blown away or just selling the product - or simply enjoying the fact that as long as he's plugged in he doesn't have to field any more of the givers and takers. As he navigates through the VR demo, the crowd oohs and ahhs his every decision. Let's get virtual with Tim Tim nears the torus. People cheer. Tim goes into the torus. People scream. Tim screams. Tim dances and writhes like he's having an orgasm.

Parents

Some spoil their children rotten and smother them with love, and some others are guilty of no less than neglect. But most people sit somewhere in the middle, happily teaching their children to read and write, learn right from wrong, learn acceptable behaviour and non acceptable behaviour. They help them with their homework, teach them how to manage money, tell them about sex, teach them about the dangers of strangers, and generally help them to prepare for adult life.

The Home Highs

There are two varieties of drug vice the exotic, fascinating* tempting and debasing kind that goes with illicit, drugs and has something to do with desired but disapproved sexual activity and the homey, domesticated kind connected with legal drugs* which is regarded with less fascinated interest and more tolerance.

Under the Influence

L) escribing what it's like in the DMT realms is about as easy as giving words to scaling a mountain peak, sexual orgasm, undersea diving, and other nonverbal but breathtakingly profound experiences. However, since most of us will never participate in a DMT research project, I will try to provide a general overview of what happens after receiving various doses of intravenous DMT.1

Pornography

If you're a man, you may have looked at pornography at some time in your life (apparently women sometimes look at it too). I'm not going to lie to you and say that I find it disgusting or that I've never looked at it. I have. Most men use pornography as a means to achieve orgasm through masturbation (manual stimulation of the genital organs of yourself or another for sexual pleasure), nothing more. They will not become violent rapists, murderers, or devalue women because of it. They will not love their partners or wives any less either. So why do it Let's start our discussion with me admitting to you the reader that I have watched pornographic films, looked at still images, surfed for various types of pornography on the internet and even gone to peep shows and lap dancing bars. Does that make me a pervert (a person whose behaviour deviates from what is acceptable especially in sexual behaviour) And while we're on the subject, I have even been to a prostitute (a woman who engages in...

Pregnancy Category B

Some persons experience euphoria from methadone. Unwanted effects can include vitamin deficiency, constipation, sleepiness, breathing difficulty, and low blood pressure. People may feel faint if they suddenly stand up from a sitting or prone position. Nausea, vomiting, constipation, urinary difficulty, sweating, lowered sex drive, and impaired sexual performance are other well-known problems. Liver disease may allow dangerous buildup of methadone levels from normal doses.

Pregnancy

The behavior of pregnant women has become a giant public health concern that may mirror attitudes about sex and sexism (Stoltenberg, 1988). Some states may prosecute pregnant women for child abuse if they test positive for drugs. These statutes may lead pregnant women to avoid prenatal health care, dramatically increasing the chances of problematic deliveries. Laws like this assume that illicit drugs damage the fetus. Research designed to assess the impact of marijuana on the fetus is often compounded by polysubstance abuse. Investigators often must limit their work to countries like Jamaica, where women who smoke cannabis are not particularly likely to use other drugs. Alternatively, researchers can estimate the effects of other drugs like alcohol and cocaine and then see if marijuana use contributes to additional problems.

Nitrite

Various chemical subvarieties of nitrite inhalants exist. Isobutyl nitrite is popular in some teenager circles and has been called the cocaine of poor people. Although anyone is physically free to use any drug, authorities find that nitrite sniffing has particular appeal to male homosexuals, especially during sexual activity. Aphrodisiac qualities are claimed for the substance. Amyl nitrite sniffers report euphoria and muscle relaxation. Isobutyl nitrite users report losing their sense of who they are and also becoming calm or, in contrast, becoming prone to wild conduct differences that may illustrate the impact that someone's personality and surroundings have on drug experiences. Regardless of exact content of a nitrite experience, sensations are brief. Some persons have confused nitrites with nitrates they have a similar spelling but are different substances.

Carbomers

The safety of BufferGel has been evaluated in a highdose tolerance trial in 98 women, of whom 91 (26 sexually abstinent and 65 sexually active) completed the study (5). Reasons for withdrawal included an inability to adhere to the protocol (n 1) breakthrough menstrual bleeding (n 2) the presence of yeast on day 7 (two asymptomatic cases and one symptomatic case) and refusal to continue (n 1). The percentage of women with at least one sign or symptom judged by a clinician as potentially related to the product was 29 in India, 33 in Thailand, 35 in Malawi, and 33 in Zimbabwe. There were no differences in the proportions of sexually abstinent and sexually active women with at least one potentially product-related sign or symptom at each study site. In all, there were 45 potentially product-related signs and symptoms. Two were judged to be definitely related to the product (vaginal itching after product insertion) and 43 as possibly or probably related. All were categorized as mild (84 )...

Thought

The world is full of thought, which is silent, but if one acts on a thought, that thought becomes a reality. You can think of declaring war, raping a girl, murdering that old man, kissing that girl, telling someone you like them, telling someone you hate them. You can think of quitting your job, leaving your husband, having one more child, or having sex with a prostitute. You can think of stabbing that man, fighting the football fan, telling your parents you love them, robbing the bank, or killing your friend and stealing his money.

Natural Stimuli

We recently measured faster dopamine transients in the core of the nucleus accumbens of male rats during sexual interaction (2). In the first experiment, we monitored dopamine during introduction of a receptive female into the test cage. Dopamine transients occurred during the initial interaction with the female, that is, approach and sniffing behaviors, but not during copulatory behaviors such as mounting, intromission, or ejaculation. Additional experiments addressed whether this phasic dopamine response is specific for recogni-

HIV and drug abuse

In 1981 when HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) was recognized, unprotected sexual intercourse and the sharing of intravenous drug needles were identified as the two primary methods of transmission. Since those early days, much new information has been discovered about HIV. One of those discoveries identified the increased risk of infection from anabolic steroid injections. Since steroids are injected into the muscles, not the veins, the name intravenous drug use has changed to injection drug use to include steroid abuse. One fact that remains constant sharing drug needles increases the risk of HIV AIDs. A person can be infected with HIV and not show outward symptoms for years. In the meantime he or she transmits the virus to other people. The same scenario applies to unprotected sexual intercourse.

Quality vs

Moroccan Golden Double Zero Hashish

The common view on hash in the UK is that it's thoroughly dirty, and there's little to say that will change people's minds. You can't expect someone to believe in something they've never seen before. More pollen is currently available, but quality is unstable. Just because someone says its pollen doesn't mean it's pollen It can still be full of nasty adulterants. Compared to a Caramelo, a pressed slab of commercial grade pollen hardly bubbles or stays alight. This is evidence of minimal oils, along with a slight brown colour (adulterants) in the smoke. The smoke should be a lovely misty blue colour. There isn't a lot of difference in the price, but the quality will make you feel like you've just had the best orgasm ever and leave a satisfied smirk on your face.

Ginkgo biloba

Cohen and Bartlik conducted a trial of ginkgo in men and women suffering from selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI)-induced ED after observations of improvement in sexual performance in an elderly patient. This patient was taking SSRI for major depression and reported improved libido and erections after taking ginkgo. When he stopped taking the ginkgo, his ED returned 22 . In their study, all patients (men and women) were taking antidepressants, with the majority of patients taking regular SSRIs. Seventy-six percent of patients reported decreased libido, 54 reported inhibited or delayed orgasm and 19 had difficulty with erections. The authors prescribed an average dose of 207 mg a day to 63 patients while maintaining their regular antidepressant therapy. They found that 84 of patients experienced a positive effect on their sexual function, with more women reporting relief (30 33) than men (23 30). Again, there were no reported side effects 22 . Clinical studies have also...

Buffergel

Since there is an urgent need for topical mi-crobicides that women can administer vaginally to protect themselves from HIV infection and possibly other sexually transmitted diseases and pregnancy, BufferGel (ReProtect LLC, Baltimore, MD), an aqueous gel of a spermicidal microbicide, formulated at pH 3.9, which acidifies twice its volume of semen to a pH of 5 and maintains the protective acidity of the vagina, should be ideal. The safety of BufferGel has been evaluated in a high-dose tolerance trial in 98 women, of whom 91 (26 sexually abstinent and 65 sexually active) completed the study (5c). Reasons for withdrawal included an inability to adhere to the protocol (one woman) breakthrough menstrual bleeding (two women) the presence of yeast on day 7 (two asymptomatic cases and one symptomatic case) and refusal to continue (one woman). The percentage of women with at least one sign or symptom judged by a clinician as potentially related to the product was 29 in India, 33 in Thailand, 35...

Nursing

The disinclination of nursing mothers for sexual intercourse has been the subject of a considerable amount of published material. In any case, the nonmenstruating nursing mother does not usually desire sexual relations, and, in fact, usually does so only at the request of the husband. A highly charged activity such as sexual intercourse tends to upset her emotionally. The stress can be picked up by the infant, and may be an added factor in the incidence of colic in children, as well as causing a lessened milk supply in the mother. * Such a statement reflects the strong reaction of the sensually aroused, nursing mother to participate in erotic, image-manipulating sexuality. Only a man possessed by erotic imagery, who has accumulated sexual repression, can desire sexual intercourse with a woman who does not have mutual desire. Manipulation of the repressed libido has been the principal source of power that Western women exercise over their men. This game becomes inescapably apparent...

Human Growth Hormone

Effects Higher energy levels, elevated mood, improved memory, enhanced sleep, increased muscle mass (up to 8.8 percent after six months), enhanced sexual performance, regrowth of vital organs, restoration of immune function, stronger bones, lower blood pressure, faster healing of wounds, smoother skin, regrowth of hair, sharper vision, and a reduction in fat (14.4 percent after six months). It may also extend the human life span.

Bpm Iv

Piramid Mesopoatamia Hirarcy

Satiation of thirst and hunger pleasure of sucking libidinal feelings after defe-I cation, urination, sexual orgasm, or delivery of a child In regard to the Freudian erotogenic zones, the positive aspects of BPM I coincide with the biological and psychological condition in which there are no tensions in any of these zones and all the partial drives are satisfied. Conversely, satisfaction of needs in these zones (satiation of hunger, release of tension by urination, defecation, sexual orgasm, or delivery of a child) results in a superficial and partial approximation to the tension-free ecstatic experience described above. mechanism of sexual orgasm, and the feelings of the delivering woman in the second stage of labor. In regard to memory, BPM IV represents a matrix for the recording of all later situations involving major personal success and termination of conditions of prolonged serious danger, such as ends of wars or revolutions, survival of accidents, or recoveries from severe...

We Are Newly Born

Absolutely essential to the physical and metaphysical success of the sacred peyote enterprise is a rite of sexual purification, intended to return the pilgrims to a state of prenatal innocence. It requires all those present, men and women, to identify by name and in public each and every sexual partner since puberty. This applies even to those who will not actually make the journey but remain behind to keep the divine hearth fire one of the manifestations of the fire deity burning for the duration of the pilgrimage. To appreciate this one has to know that the polygamous Huichols, while espousing the ideal of marital fidelity, are not especially noted for adhering to it, that the participants are usually drawn from the same small community, commonly from households more or less closely related by blood or marriage, and that the attentive audience more likely than not includes the very sexual partners whose names are publicly proclaimed. Yet it is an absolute requirement that no one...

Yohimbine

GENERAL Preparations Brand name Yocon only. Class Aphrodisiac. Used in Medication-induced sexual dysfunction. Mechanism of action Unknown effects in the brain. In the peripheral nervous system, it changes the muscle tone of blood vessels, resulting in enhanced blood flow to the genitals during sexual activity. DOSING Adults To restore sexual desire half of a 5.4 mg tablet daily, with an increase up to half a tablet three times a day after a few days and then an increase up to a maximum of 5.4 mg three times daily. To improve sexual arousal and ability to achieve orgasm one half to one tablet one to two hours prior to sexual activity.

Naturally gay

Homosexual behavior has been observed in birds, beetles, orangutans, dolphins, fruit bats, sheep and many other animals, male and female. This behavior ranges from oral sex, as observed in female Japanese macaques, who engage in cunnilingus, to complex courtship behavior and sex in birds, to anal sex, which has been observed in many species. Some have argued that homosexual behavior is used by animals to enhance their social position within a group, but others have observed that they do it simply because they like it. For example, one of the most horny primates is the bonobo ape. Bonobos engage in sexual activity with many partners, 75 of which is not reproductive sex they are thought to use sex as a substitute for aggression and for a great deal of pleasure. Some of the most important information we have about the biology of sexual orientation comes from sheep. Farmers have observed that about 8 of male sheep preferentially court and have sex with other male sheep and will...

Ecstasy Introduction

Not long ago, I had breakfast with a friend of mine, the mother of a sixteen-year-old girl who had vomited on the family room couch after coming home drunk from a party. She asked how this book was coming along and voiced concern about some of the information I was planning to include. Why teach people how to use Ecstasy more safely she asked. Millions of people around the world are using this drug, I explained. They are going to use it whether we like it or not, and there are ways to keep them safe and keep them alive. Didn't you explain to Aisha about the dangers of alcohol Didn't you tell her about not drinking too much or not driving when she had been drinking That is harm reduction. Wearing seat belts while driving in cars, helmets while riding on motorcycles, and even wrist guards while inline skating are all examples of harm reduction. Teaching safe sex is harm reduction preaching abstinence is not. Offering simple advice to people who are using Ecstasy is harm reduction...
