The use of herbal products in pregnancy is common, although there is little evidence of its safety . The actual incidence of this use is unknown, even if it has been quoted by some authors as varying between 7 and 45% depending on geographical area [10-14]. This frequent use is particularly worrisome because many of these compounds are taken without the physician's knowledge. This derives from the implicit belief that herbal remedies, being natural, are necessarily safe .
